»I really appreciate the human touch here«

Andrea

IT Consultant

2007

Hey, I'm Andrea
I came to AKRA in 2007, looking for an employer who would allow me to re-enter the workforce after a few years' break.
As a single mother, the Hamburg location and flexible working hours were important to me. If there were ever stressful phases, AKRA took care of a babysitter. This interaction with each other, the personal and human touch, is something I really appreciate here. I'm a communicative, empathetic person and prefer to move in the interface between user and developer - i.e. the "I need that!" and the "this is how we do it! With over 25 years on the job, my niche is primarily migration projects for large, traditional companies that want to adapt or expand their aging software.

»I'm a big fan of variety.«
I started in the industry at the end of the 80s as a data processing clerk. It was a brand new profession back then! And I thought it was great to grow with the new opportunities, to jet through the world and to help shape the future of IT. At the end of the 90s I finally decided to start a family and today I can say: If you survive the puberty of your children, you are prepared for a lot in your professional life! In the same way, you develop the great talent to follow up over and over again: "Well, how far along are you?" For me, good team play means that you don't just work in your tunnel, but also look to the right and left, address things and be there for your colleagues. The fact that we also succeed in doing this privately at AKRA is always fun: at a barbecue or a St. Pauli match, at a game night or the legendary "family day".

»I can combine my life well with my job.«
I am a big fan of variety and in my spare time I like to go out with my dog June, a Bardino mix. I also paint with acrylics and pastels. I used to have a studio for this, where I let off steam abstractly and on large canvases. Today I prefer to look for concrete motifs that I can implement at home. The fact that I can combine my life, my personality and my hobbies so well with my job makes me feel special and I am happy to have found my place in the versatile, colorful AKRA family.
