"The unconventional suits me"

Claudia

Senior IT Consultant

At AKRA since 2006

Hi, I'm Claudia
I've been with AKRA for a long time, since 2006. As a Senior IT Consultant, I often work for one and the same client for many years, but on numerous projects in parallel. I find very different topics exciting - and AKRA is the right place for me.
I am currently working in infrastructure at a large energy provider. This mainly involves IT projects such as setting up a system environment for telephony or introducing an application that allows employees to access the servers securely while on the move. In another project, we want to simplify everyday meetings with artificial intelligence. New territory that I'm happy to help discover! I like leaving my usual bubble, asking questions and having things explained to me. I want to understand the big picture. Because only then will new IT processes really run smoothly.

"I like being able to lend a hand"
I originally came from the field of computer engineering. At the time, I thought it was cool that only a few women did it. The focus of my studies was on machine automation. After that, I went straight into IT consulting. First in Hamburg - and then in Vienna. My husband and I ended up there via a somewhat unconventional job interview that we conducted at a highway service station! In Austria, I worked a lot for Telekom Austria. Back in Hamburg, I first started freelance, then full-time at AKRA.

"I find so many topics exciting"
What I like about AKRA is that we always come together despite our different locations. For example, on Cultural Thursdays, where we go to exhibitions. Or at the games evening, where we try out new card or board games. Because I like to read a lot, I also set up the book exchange at AKRA. Anyone can leave their books here so that others can take them. But no IT books, please! I myself prefer to read science fiction and fantasy, e.g. by Andreas Eschbach or Trudi Canavan. But I also like crime novels, biographies and historical fiction. I like to browse and then stock up. Lots of stock! There must still be 400 unread books in my study. I've also been involved in the Sprachbrücke-Hamburg association for a few years now. Here, people who are learning German as a foreign language can practise speaking. On topics that interest them! Our participants come from Lithuania, China, Afghanistan and Ukraine, for example. I like being able to get involved and change things. But I always see the individual person. My mentality here is very similar to that of AKRA. Appreciating diversity! And at the same time responding to the needs of each individual. We are a big family of different characters. Funny, crazy - and sometimes a little eccentric. The unconventional suits me. And that's why I'm here.
